FreshWater Stain & Scale Defense is a weekly maintenance treatment that prevents calcium scale from forming on spa surfaces and equipment, and prevents dissolved metals (iron, copper, manganese) from staining your spa shell. Active ingredient: a blend of organic polymers that bind to calcium and metal ions and keep them suspended in solution where they can't deposit or react.

This product handles two of the most common long-term damage modes in a residential hot tub: scale (white, crusty calcium deposits on heaters, jets, and water lines) and metallic staining (brown, blue-green, or rust-colored discoloration on the spa shell).
